Summer road trip - Off we went

And so we gave our doggy's their favourite treat, and jumped into the car before they noticed (even if they did, chicken wins hands down over following us to the car, Any day).

6am and we were off to Johannesburg, the 1st leg of our road trip. Pretty uneventful, except when we eventually got there, 11hours later, the 5 Cd's I'd made especially for the road trip, just weren't going to cut it...ah well, boo hoo, there was no turning back now!

We spent the evening with old friends (whom I miss terribly), and their adorable little ones. How cute are their babies???

Ty and Ry Playing with gifts from us :)

Sleepy baby and Jax

And every time we are together, the conversation always touches on when Hubs and I will start making little friends for their brood. And so, my beautiful friends, Jax and Wax have given us a baby crib...our first baby gift, and we aren't even baking one yet.

Hugs&kisses and a sunrise later, we where standing outside the international arrivals terminal waiting for my cousin (all the way from Cyprus) and my sister in law and her future hubby (all the way from Germany) whose flights were landing 5 minutes apart. Must have been an hour from the time they landed to the time we saw them and in that hour, I ought to have cried about a dozen times. Every time I saw a mother and daughter, husband and wife, Granny's and granddaughter, reunited, the emotions up in thirrr. Twas like watching the end of a Kleenex movie over and over again.

We enjoyed an awesome dinner with one of my closest friends and her man at an amazing restaurant (that is the only thing I miss in Joburg, the huge variety of amazing eateries).

I enjoyed catching up with my beloved friends in Joburg, and off we went home, to catch some shut eye and recuperate for the next leg of our road trip to my beloved Zimbabwe. Little did we know what was in store for us...

On the road again :)
